Option 2

Option 3 = BOTH

This online practice will help you develop, refine, deepen, integrate, and advance a

new or existing yoga practice into your daily life.

The objective of this online program is to build a Yogic foundation that you can integrate into your life.  Yoga is an art and a science.  It is the art of integration and the science of the soul.  The living principles of Yoga that you learn through study, application and experience, will help guide and enrich your life in deep and meaningful ways.

If you find that you are struggling to "squeeze in time" for Yoga (physical practice, study, meditation, application) and yet it's important to you, a simple shift of focus will help.  Focus on the practice first and the busi-ness of life will not determine if you get to your practice.  The first step to true integration is integrating the practice itself into every day existence.  This is why I offer this program; to help you integrate the practice so that it can truly work on you.

When we allow Yoga practice to become the center of our focus, all the others areas of our life become clearer and more vibrant, lining up aspects of our lives with our practice itself.  In other words, our practice guides our life.  Yes, some shifts will need to occur, no doubt, but that is real growth.

My approach is meant to help you turn inwardly, in the middle of a world filled with distractions.  Whether holding a yoga posture or busy at work, I hope this inward approach to life saturates your life with love and wisdom.

"Practice"

Why choose Yoga as a path?
Yoga has intrigued you in some way: why?  Is it the way you feel during or after physical practice?  Are you sensing the principles underlying the practice? What do they say to you?  Is it the experience of an energetic shift or a different state of mind that the practice brings you?  Let's build on that awareness, because Yoga may be your path.
If Yoga practice speaks to you, listen more closely.  There is so much more to hear.
This program helps you incorporate the essential guidelines of living a Yogic inspired life.
BUT ... it will take PRACTICE.
Practice is KEY, and it is most powerful when it is
rhythmic, consistent, & focused.

hatha yoga

$15/month for one year
or
$150/year (2 free months: $30 savings)

Physical yoga practice is a part of the sacred practice of Yoga.  It is one aspect and not the entire practice itself, but part of the whole.  It is important to keep the body healthy, energized, and free from sensation that distracts the mind (i.e. pain and discomfort!).

Let's honor the experience in our physical bodies and take care of them!

But how can we work with the body without principles upholding our efforts.  We must know how to care appropriately.

According to his students, the father of the modern physical yoga movement himself, Krishnamacharya, stated that "Asana-s do not become yoga unless when done with yama-s and niyama-s." Yama/Niyama provide a guide and direction for our thoughts and actions.  This means, unless our thoughts and actions are based in yogic philosophy during our physical practice, we are not practicing physical yoga, we are just exercising.

Right thinking & action: For this reason, if you choose to sign-up for the physical program alone, you will still hear about yama and niyama, emphasizing the applications of these principles to your practice.

My style:  My physical practice style is mostly rooted in Hatha Yoga, each session being unique from the next.  For an energetic shift, sometimes I'll incorporate flavors of Hatha yoga such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa or Kundilini.

Video production:  The videos I post are simple.  I want the practice to be about the practice and not about me, but about you.  I hope the simplicity of the videos help you focus and keep them in some way fresh and new so you can reuse them.  I'm focused on minimizing distractions for you so I do my best to keep my personality out of these physical practice videos.  The videos in the study program are where I share with you my own experiences, a lot of heart, and a few laughs.

option 2

Study, Philosophy and application are those aspects of Yoga that will help you understand Yogic principles.  As you apply these principles to your life, they live in you as experience, and that is the seat of wisdom.

Let's honor the experience of living principles!

While the physical practice helps purify the body, study helps us purify the mind.  Study opens us up to the underpinnings of Yoga, the rich philosophy that is not what we know as "philosophy" where one reasons their way to a certain line of thinking.  Yogic philosophy is based on experience and most often, realizations achieved through meditation.  Sages of ages before us have, through meditation, reached similar, if not the same, living philosophy through meditation and practice.

This program revolves around a book study.  We move slowly through the book in order to digest it.  In the videos I'll sometimes recommend exercises to you.  I'll also suggest ways of applying the principles to your life and will draw on my experiences as well as other commentaries.

The Yoga Sutras (Yoga Aphorisoms) by Patanjali are central to this study.

Signing up for the Study & Application Practice will give you access to:

  • Past archives of recorded sessions

  • 3-4 recorded book study sessions per month.

  • In-depth study of Yama & Niyama and suggestions about application to daily life

  • Breathwork, meditation, mantra, are built into this practice

  • Discussion of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and commentary

  • E-mail correspondence with me to check-in, share your thoughts, ask me questions, or just say hello

  • Access to the member group app to inform you of new posts

  • Bonus sessions that I occasionally post on meditation, chanting in Sanskrit, discussion on challenges in maintaining a practice, guided yoga nidra, and relaxation techniques.

There are various forms of Yogic techniques and practices, but they share the same philosophical foundation and ultimate goals.
Nonetheless, they exist because we are individuals with varying dispositions and temperaments.
I honor your practice, which is as unique as you.  Practicing with me online is meant to help you establish a strong Yogic foundation that you'll integrate into every part of your life in your own unique way.
I have suggestions that worked for me, as do all of us in the support community, but in the end, each one of us must learn our way.
Daily practice directs mental and physical energy towards the way you want to be in the world.
